Somerset Scenario Planning

Prepare for the workforce of tomorrow

Welcome to Part Two of our exploration into 2035, and how best to plan and prepare for the workforce of tomorrow.

Many of you attended the scenario workshops held earlier in September, and we were delighted that over 200 people took part from across the Somerset system. From those workshops we have created a new vision for our workforce: The Empowered Workforce 2035. This vision is rooted in the shared expertise and experience of those who attended the first set of workshops, and it strongly aligns with the aims of the Integrated Care Strategy.

From this initial work we now have a strong shared narrative and a new language describing the type of health and care system we want to plan for and work towards. This is hugely encouraging.

Self Assessment

We are now at a point in our process where we have a strong sense of the workforce vision for 2035 and a clearer understanding of the kind of roles, skills and capacity that will be required to support our healthcare vision in 2035.

The next stage is for us to better understand the degree to which these skills and capabilities and roles currently exist within our current workforce. And we need your help in this.

We have put together a short self assessment survey and we would be very grateful if you would take the 3 / 4 minutes required to fill it in.

Move towards our Strategic Workforce Plan and to ensure healthier lives, collaboration and an empowered workforce in Somerset in 20235.
